Features in brief

The Features available on the ALAW® iPBX (call server) are traditionally only found on high end, high cost PBXs. In fact the ALAW® iPBX exceeds many of these features by fully utilising all the benefits, both technical and financial, of Voice over IP (VoIP) and IP Telephony, providing you with a highly cost effective, reliable and feature rich application.

Incoming calls can be routed directly to the recipient if known, or be answered by an Interactive Menu giving the caller the opportunity to further define their needs.

From the IVR, the call can then be forwarded to a pre-defined queue, where the caller remains informed of his position in the queue whilst listening to ‘on-hold' music. Of course, at any time, the caller can decide to leave a message instead of remaining in the queue.

Once the caller is connected with the recipient's number, the call can be answered, diverted, transferred, put in conference with third parties, picked up by a colleague or sent to a voice mailbox. The recipient can then receive a message in his mail application with the voicemail attached to it. The recipient can also be informed of a waiting message directly on his phone. From a remote location, the recipient can also consult his mailbox via an Internet Browser.

Other features of the ALAW® iPBX enable calls to be recorded or encrypted. Faxes will be automatically transmitted to a fax machine or converted in email and send to a predefined recipient(s) destination.

If you're often out of office and still want to be available, you can for example redirect your incoming calls over the internet to any IP phone, free of charge, or even beter, virtualy move your own phone anywhere in the world.

Should you prefer to route the incoming calls to a receptionist, calls can be monitored and handled from an attendant console. The attendant can monitor every line, phone our queue, and transfer calls just with a drag and drop.

Outgoing calls can be initiated from the phone, manually or via a directory, but also by a click on the contact list of your mail application, or from an integrated CRM application. They are then sent directly on the PSTN network or routed to Internet based Telecom Operators, reducing drastically local, international and GSM call costs due to the volume of calls such gateways are handeling. Internet calls are of course free of charge.

Furthermore, voice over IP allows compression of voice while still keeping voice quality, and provide you with multiple simultaneous virtual telephone lines for the price of a single physical one. You can for exemple have up to six simultaneous conversations on a single ADSL line.

And at last, for management and billing, a complete journal of the calls is available online, with full call details.

... these are only a few of the functions the ALAW® iPBX can provide you! That's the magic of IP telephony!
